Mixing country charm with modern interiors

This 19th century white-washed cottage is common in the Scottish landscape. They often evoke a sense of country charm and heritage. As homes however, living spaces are cramped, usually cold and draughty, and damp is not uncommon. Cryans was asked to turn this country side beauty into a proper 1.5 story family home with a fully converted loft.

Client: Stephen Thompson
Location: Dalmally
Project: Old cottage with unusable top floor converted into a 2 bedroom dormer conversion with fibreglass insulated roof covering. New kitchen with plinth lighting and staircase stringer lighting. New double-glazed PVC windows and doors. New tiled bathroom with mains shower. Two new log burners.
